About Rosebud

 

Tired of watching the world pass my window, and looking for something to keep me occupied at home, I started to make chocolates. 

 

A couple of chocolatier courses later and it turns out I love making chocolates and my friends seem to like me making them too. Creating new recipes and combinations is as much of the enjoyment as eating them.  

Rosebud chocolates are all handmade by me in my kitchen using traditional techniques and fresh ingredients. I  make small batches of each flavour and put them into a collection.  I bring out collections in Spring, Autumn and Winter. In between times I usually have a couple of flavours on the go.

 

I like strong, distinct, flavours and wherever possible I use locally sourced ingredients (obviously not the cocoa beans, but I use ethically produced cocoa from sustainable cocoa farms).

 

Each new flavour I create is extensively tried and tested by me, friends and neighbours. It's a slow process but it's a labour of love and somebody has to do it.

Tasting Sessions

 

I am always coming up with  new ideas and trying to improve my flavours. Tasting sessions are where I try them out with family, friends and neighbours. It gives me really useful information and it's also a good excuse to have a get-together and catch up with old friends and meet new neighbours.

Tasting sessions normally take place on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon  and are very relaxed. Just a group of family, friends  and neighbours with a love of fine chocolate.

 

I usually have a small selection of chocolates for sale but there is no obligation to buy - the only must is that you give me your honest feedback. 

All of my chocolates are made from sustainably grown cocoa using Callebaut® Finest Belgian Chocolate.

 

I only use natural or non AZO colours and always list them on the ingredients list. If you're not sure what this means, AZO colours have been associated with having an adverse effect on activity and attention in some children, so rest assured, I won't be using any. My chocolates are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten free
